Montpellier Day Trip Guide: A Perfect Blend of Architecture and Food

Transportation: TGV from Lyon
Starting from Lyon, I took the TGV train, which took about two hours to reach Montpellier, making it an easy and relaxing start to the day!

L’Arbre Blanc – A Symbol of Contemporary Architecture
My first stop was the iconic L’Arbre Blanc building, designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Though it’s a bit further from the city center, its unique design reminded me of a fluffy toilet brush . After seeing it up close, I was even tempted to move in!

Rainbow Street – Rue du Bras de Fer & Rue de l’Ancien Courrier
While wandering through the city center, I stumbled upon the super photogenic rainbow stairs. This street is filled with artistic vibes, and every corner is worth stopping at. Don’t forget to snap some beautiful photos at the intersection of Rue du Bras de Fer and Rue de l’Ancien Courrier!

Architectural Highlights: A Walk from the Arc de Triomphe to the Royal Square
Next, I hit some of the most famous architectural landmarks:

• Arc de Triomphe
• Promenade du Peyrou (Royal Square)
• Aqueduc St-Clément
• Botanical Garden and Cathedral

All these landmarks are close to each other, making it perfect for a leisurely walk while admiring the scenery!

This day trip perfectly blends Montpellier’s modern architecture, artistic culture, and culinary delights – highly recommended!
